WHY ATTEND?:
We invite all districts across the state of Michigan and beyond to send teachers, teacher leaders, and administrators at all levels who are interested in diving deeply into the MAISA Units and a study of essential literacy practices. By participating in this professional development opportunity, individuals will be equipped with key information to implement writing and/or reading units aligned with the rigorous instructional demands of the Common Core State Standards.  Facilitators are teacher leaders and educators from around the state with a ratio of aboutone facilitator to every ten teachers for continual network support.

PURPOSE/VISION:
The  vision of the ELA Network is to build statewide capacity to address the literacy demands of the Michigan Content Standards through a sustainable multi-year state network of K-12 ELA teachers.  Participants will grow their own learning around curriculum, instruction, and assessment for the purpose of supporting the learning of colleagues and students.
